Teaching methodology 

The classes will be conducted in Sinhala medium and throughout the whole course students will find a mix of theory and practice, with on-the-job training and some field experiences. 

 

Classes will be conducted on weekends with some sessions on selected Fridays to allow students to work during the week and attend to their regular life while learning. 

 

There will no requirement of tuition classes as all the subjects and learning objectives will be covered during the regular classes at school. 

Security and Safety 

The Institute is located in the center of Chilaw city but in a private compound, well secure and monitored.

 

All the Covid-19 (Corona virus) safety procedures are followed and implemented.

 

Social distance can be maintained during the lessons as well outside the Institute, in its ample garden. Use of masks and sanitizer is compulsive till different advice by health authorities and temperature is taken every day before class starts. 

More than only teaching 

The Institute and the Project linked to the course on Professional Social Work and Care Taking includes, beside teaching, also:​
 

  • Linking with business related to specific subject (Institutions and NGOs)

  • Open days for the interested business leaders to visit the school 

  • Chances of internships 

  • Feedback system: students will feedback teaching quality and methodology to help in improving the service
